Projects
Here's a glimpse into some of the work I've accomplished in collaboration with fellow peers and as an individual during my undergraduate and graduate degrees. These projects allowed me to recognize that I am an organized multitasker; I thrive when managing multiple projects and enjoy rush of meeting deadlines or accomplishing goals.
Promotional Semester-Long Undergraduate Project, JAN 2020 - MAY 2020
As a junior in my undergraduate degree, I received professor invitation to join a course typically for graduating seniors where I worked as a PR staffer on an interdisciplinary team to create and develop content to promote Red Bluff Roundup’s 100th anniversary rodeo in 2021. I worked collaboratively with students in computer animation and game design, as well as media arts, design and technology. I pitched and wrote video scripts as well as web content for the METX + RBRU project home page.

Graduate Elective Course: Literary Criticism & Theory Project, DEC 2022

For this project, I researched and designed a presentation on the literary accomplishments of Gayle Rubin, an advocate of feminism, sex and sexuality and LQBTQ+ rights. I connected her theory of symbolic interactionism to modern-day Texas obscenity laws and answered questions at the end. This project was praised as one of the best presentations of the semester.
Special Topics Post-Baccalaureate Course: Power, Privilege and Equity in Higher Education, MAR 2022 - APRIL 2022

Working with a group, I presented on racial/colonial capitalist foundations in higher education in the BSS Symposium at CSU Chico. We collaborated to research and analyze existing data, and formulated a hypothetical research study to encapsulate potential reparations from a communication studies lens.
Design, Training & Instruction in Communication Post-Baccalaureate Course, JANUARY 2023 - MAY 2023

For this project, I hosted a professional development training on Soft Skills in Mass Media for graduating Journalism & PR undergraduates at CSU Chico. I researched top soft skills for news journalism and PR, utilizing industry resources like MuckRack. I created broad learning goals and specific learning objectives based on a needs assessment and analyzed data in written support report and evaluative report to gauge the overall success of the training.

At professor request, all of my final written materials and reports were provided to peers as examples of how to structure their work.
